WEGO!2 - FINAL PROJECT EVALUATION
WEGO!2 aimed at strengthening the economic empowerment of women who survived domestic violence by improving local, national, and European support systems and promoting best practices and public-private cooperation in 4 EU countries. Did the project address the needs of Anti-violence centres and women? Was it effective in achieving its objectives? Is the project impact going to be sustainable? These are the main areas enquired in the project external evaluation, which was performed by ARCO Lab – Action Research for CO-development using qualitative participatory methodologies together with project documents analysis.
Notwithstanding the difficulties encountered during the Covid-19 pandemic, the impossibility of implementing most of the activities in presence and the need to adapt methodologies and tools, the project remained relevant to the needs of its target beneficiaries and managed to achieve most of its planned objectives. The most effective actions carried out were the development of AVCs and partners’ networks, the increased know-how with respect to the socio-economic dimensions of women empowerment, and the quality and effectiveness of the support provided to IPV survivors by the involved operators.
The most challenging action was the development of the Territorial Protocol in the four areas concerned: in most cases bilateral agreements were successfully established , yet in some countries the partners are still working on the consolidation of the multi-actor networks, which will be finalised in the course of the WE GO! 2.
In this evaluation we have tested our new Empowerment Measurement Framework. Go and check the findings! Here the link to the Report.
